An event took place at the Rungna People’s Sports Parkon March 8 to mark the AFC Women’s Football Day.
Present there were officials of the DPRK FootballAssociation, women coaches and instructors of professional sports units andreserve players training units in Pyongyang and students of PyongyangInternational Football School.
Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sportswho doubles as chairman of the Football Association, made a remark at theevent.
Heextended warm congratulations to women footballers, who won victory aftervictory in the 2024 AFC U-17 and U-20 Women’s Asian Cup and the 2024 FIFA U-17and U-20 Women's World Cup and lifted four trophies, demonstrating developmentaspect of women’s football of the DPRK to the world, and their mothers, coachesand instructors who made a sacrifice of themselves for their growth.
He expressed conviction that the colourful sportsactivities to be held thatday would become an occasion tofurther arouse affection and passion for football in not only participants butalso all women footballers, coaches and instructors of the country.
Then participants were divided into blue and red teamsto conduct sports and amusement games, a football game andpenalty kick and spent pleasant time while posing for the camera.
