Visit to the Haeju Aeguk Stone Dressing Factory
Mt Suyang in the city of Haeju, South Hwanghae Province, is well known for the rich deposit of granite. The Haeju Aeguk Stone Dressing Factory is situated by the mountain.
The factory has greatly contributed to the construction of monumental buildings by supplying a lot of high-class stone products.
In recent years the management and workers have renovated their factory.
They have greatly reduced the production cost while putting production on a stable basis by installing a rail track for transporting the stone materials from the quarry to the processing site, built a base for producing saws, and secured parts and devices for stone processing by their own efforts. Its technical staff has developed programs for controlling the production equipment, thus establishing labour- and energy-saving production lines.
This has made it possible for the workers to finely process even huge stone blocks.
The entire production line, from processing to delivery, is controlled by the integrated production system.
Under the banner of self-reliance based on science and technology, the management and workers of the factory are giving a spur to their effort to increase production of stone products necessary for major construction projects.
