There is a branch office of the Tobacco Cessation Centre in Hwasong Street in the capital city of Pyongyang.
The office includes rooms for consultation, test, information service and decoction preparation.
“Our office was established in April 2023 according to the consistent policy of the government to protect the people’s life and health from tobacco,” said office chief Yun Jong Ae.
The office offers non-smoking hopefuls a variety of services such as consultation, treatment and sales of anti-smoking products. It also applies psychological, pharmacological and kinesiological therapies according to the customers’ occupations, ages, hobbies and diseases among others.
It conducts a biannual survey in industrial establishments every year and intensifies the work to disseminate anti-smoking research results in an effort to raise the rate of tobacco cessation.
It utilizes bio-quantum resonance program, system for testing addiction to nicotine and other methods to survey prevalence of smoking and diseases and apply proper therapies by using nicotine pills and other nicotine replacement products.
In addition, it makes sure that no-smoking signs and posters are put up in public places and commercial and catering establishments, while conducting publicity activities through a book “Companion of non-smoking hopefuls.”
