“I feel like I’m in a dream.”
This is the unanimous impression of those people who moved into 10 000 flats at the third-stage project inaugurated in April in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang.
Each modern flat is electrically heated and has sunlit living rooms, kitchen, bathroom and shed among others.
Jo Myong Chol, a teacher at Ragwon Senior Middle School in Pothonggang District, has settled in flat No. 5, 5th floor, Building 14-2. He said that he still remembers the day when the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un attended the inauguration ceremony and met him and his family, warmly wishing them a happy life in the new house. “I feel like I’m still in a dream. My family seems to be the happiest in the world,” he added.
“When I received a house licence, I felt as if I were in a dream. On the day of moving, I enjoyed every moment of it, overwhelmed by gratitude to the state. Unconsciously looking out of the window, I was enchanted by a spectacular illumination down over the street,” said Kim Sun Hwa, a woman who moved from Neighbourhood Unit No. 37, Ponghak-dong, Phyongchon District to Building 16-15 with her family.
New dwellers are so delighted that they wake up late at night.
