Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, gave field guidance on April 3 over the preparations for operating the major neighbourhood-serving amenities built in the third-stage section of the Hwasong area nearing completion.

He was accompanied by officials of design and operation preparation organs and commanding officers of construction units.

The far-reaching policy-oriented plan and energetic leadership of the WPK to provide the citizens of the capital city with more wonderful material and cultural well-being are ushering in a new heyday of Pyongyang construction and the efflorescence of Pyongyang culture.

In the third-stage section of the Hwasong area, where another new large architectural group has been built in ideal harmony, different kinds of modern neighbourhood-serving networks like commercial, public catering, technical and recreation service facilities with strong symbolic and specific characters are arranged according to the direct instructions of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, sustaining the conspicuous and developing features of the section.

Learning in detail about the preparations for operating the service centre wonderfully furnished with modern equipment and means necessary for technical service of vehicles, he spoke highly of the fact that all the processes are ready to be fully convenient for satisfying the customers’ demands, saying:

This new specialized centre for technical service for various kinds of vehicles in the Hwasong area will serve as a new base for improving the quality of technical service for vehicles and meeting the demand for it. When another larger-scale similar technical service centre is built in the fourth-stage section, the Hwasong area will become a centre for serving vehicles. This constitutes an important progress in improving the functions and appearance of the capital city and the service for the people’s convenience.

He went round a 300-seat video game house built in a characteristic style.

He was pleased to hear that the game house to be furnished with various kinds of facilities is expected to be very popular among young people including children when it is opened. He said that special attention should be paid to the establishment of its operation system and order and the preparations for service as this new space specializing in service for video games is a base of the service field to be opened for the first time in the country.

Learning about the preparations for operating various commercial and public catering service bases, he highly appreciated that the service amenities chain built on an overpass have a strong symbolic and peculiar character and that its design and construction were on a high level as desired by the Party.

Noting that to steadily explore and expand new service field in fresh forms and ways takes an important place in carrying out the policy of the Party to radically improve the material and cultural well-being of the people across the country as well as the citizens of the capital city, he set forth the tasks to this end and gave instructions on the regular maintenance and operation of the service bases.

He repeatedly requested the relevant units to make effective preparations for the operation of the service facilities built in the third-stage section of the Hwasong area as each of them is a structure planned and provided with much effort by the Party for the people including the coming generations.
