Russia criticizes US and its allies for forming military alliance like NATO in Asia-Pacific region

Andrei Rudenko, Russian vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, disclosed the moves of the US and Western countries to undermine security in the Asia-Pacific region in a recent interview with the newspaper Izvestia.
The US and its allies are shipping such means of strike as strategic nuclear weapons into the region while forming a military alliance like NATO there, he said, disclosing that they are seeking to set up a military and political bloc unprecedented in the light of objective and mission by breaking into pieces the sole security space.
Censuring NATO for clinging to the Asia-Pacific after destroying European security, he said that the Asia-Pacific region knows well what the full-blooded movements of NATO will entail and the regional countries do not want the scenarios of former Yugoslavia, Libya, Afghanistan and Ukraine to be reproduced in their region.
He also decried Japan’s undisguised expansion of provocative military movements off the Far Eastern coast of Russia together with the US and other NATO member nations.
