Kagum Paekkwa 1.0, a poultry books reading app developed by the Chongsin IT Company, is popular among the officials and workers in the animal husbandry sector.
The program is composed of six parts: poultry breeds, feed and nutrition, breeding and tending, anti-epizootic work, etc.
The breeds part contains data on varieties and biological features of the poultry raised in the DPRK and data on their genes and the techniques of breeding them, while the feed and nutrition part introduces the kinds of feeds and their processing methods, the table of standards of poultry breeding, the indexes of estimating the feed nutrition and so on.
The breeding and tending part presents methods of hatching in accordance with the species and methods of breeding and tending in accordance with the features of age groups of animals by classifying the species into those for meat, eggs and taste. The anti-epizootic work part contains data on veterinary medicines, Koryo veterinary work, clinical medicines and their usage, manual of veterinary medicines and iconographical books of poultry diseases.
The common knowledge part contains a range of knowledge such as a Q&A on poultry breeding, diagnosis and prevention of poultry diseases and technical terms used in the poultry sector.
“I’m just happy to conveniently browse data on my smart phone anytime and anywhere,” said Han Kyong Hui, a farmer living in Neighbourhood Unit No. 20 in Haksan-dong, Hyongjesan District, Pyongyang.
