NK News is hiring

The U.S. Department of Commerce recently adopted new measures restricting access to advanced AI chip exports to other countries with the exception of its 18 core allies including France and Japan.

In this regard, the Executive Vice-President and Commissioner of the European Commission issued a joint statement expressing concern over new restrictions for selected EU member states and their companies.

Political and economic figures of several EU member states commented that those European countries had a deep mistrust of the U.S. due to these restrictions, which gives a warning to Europe.

They expressed strong disapproval that the measure will present long-term challenges to their AI research and development.

New measures adopted by the U.S. has surprisingly split the EU into categories, the European media reported, and pointed out that the West European countries belong to the first category without restrictions while most of the East European countries fall into the second category with limited access to AI chips.

They expressed disappointment that selected European countries can no longer rely on the U.S. in buying advanced artificial intelligence chips.
