The restaurant of the Pothongmun Street Fish and Meat Shop in the center of Pyongyang is famous for roast meat. Its cooks would say that, to preserve peculiar taste and smell of roast meat, it is needed to cut meat thinly and season it with Welsh onion, garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, liquor and pear juice.
The Korean steak cooking method was registered as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2015.
