The telemedicine service improves in the DPRK.
Dynamic efforts were made to establish an on-line consultation system for surgery between central-level hospitals and provincial general hospitals including the Jagang Provincial General Hospital.
Hundreds of IT devices of more than ten kinds were additionally introduced in provincial general hospitals across the country, reinforcing the on-line consultation system for surgery.
The central-level hospitals kept the telemedicine system in normal operation so as to help the provincial general hospitals treat their patients more effectively.
On the basis of the experience accumulated in the telemedicine service, measures were taken to steadily improve the quality of quick consultation and diagnosis and ensure the speed of diagnosis and accuracy of treatment by relying on information technology and in close contact with relevant institutions.
Last year tens of thousands of consultations, thousands of technical lectures and several consultations for surgery were held through the telemedicine system.
