The Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was adopted on December 27, 1972.

All rights of the citizens specified in the constitution are thoroughly guaranteed by the popular policies enforced by the government of the DPRK.

The people's right to education is one of the most fundamental and important one of those to be provided by the state and society.

The DPRK fully provides the entire people with the right to education and the state bears all the expenses for education.

All forms of education are free, including preschool, primary, secondary, higher, social and study-while-you-work education.

In the DPRK, the houses for ordinary working people are built at the state expense.

In 2024 alone, Rimhung and Jonwi streets were wonderfully built in the capital city of Pyongyang and lots of dwelling houses across the country. Those houses were given to ordinary working people including workers and farmers free of charge.

All citizens have the right to elect and to be elected and ordinary workers and farmers are elected deputies to discuss the state affairs.

In the elections to the local people's assemblies held in 2023, 99.63 percent of the voters took part in voting and 27,858 workers, farmers, intellectuals and officials were elected deputies.

The system of nursing and bringing up children, the maternity leave system for women, the recuperation and relaxation systems for working people, the district doctor system, the social insurance and social security systems at state and social expense--these are typical popular policies enforced in the DPRK.

"The Socialist Constitution of the DPRK specifies the rights and freedom of the Korean people in all fields of social life including politics, the economy and culture and legally guarantees that the people substantially enjoy the popular policies of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state through the detailed sectional laws.

It is proved well by the DPRK Law on Childcare."

The DPRK Law on Childcare was adopted at the Sixth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly held in February 2022.

It stipulates that the childcare is an undertaking involving the whole country and society and bringing up the children at state and social expense is an important communist policy.

Thanks to the adoption of the Law on Childcare, a legal guarantee was secured to provide the best conditions for the upbringing of the children, material and technical foundations for the production of dairy products were further consolidated throughout the country and nourishing foods such as dairy products supplied to the children free of charge on a regular basis.

It is a policy of the WPK and an eternal national policy of the DPRK to supply the children and students with school uniforms at the state expense.

According to it, new school uniforms, shoes, bags and a complete set of school things were supplied to all new pupils and students across the country every year and the benefits for the schoolchildren increased.

The Korean people are valuing this grateful socialist system, in which everything serves them, like their lives and devoting their all for the prosperity of the country.
