Alexandr Matsegora, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave a reception on the 10th on the occasion of the ratification of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the DPRK and the Russian Federation.

Invited to the reception were Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Il Hwan, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Choe Son Hui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, Jong Kyong Thaek, Director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, Kim Yo Jong, Deputy Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, and officials concerned.

Present there were staff members of the Russian embassy.

Alexandr Matsegora spoke at the reception.

He said the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the DPRK came to be effectuated with the exchange of its ratification instrument on December 4.

He said Russia and the DPRK have made efforts to develop the Russia-DPRK friendly relations onto the level of compete alliance stemming from the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples and from the need to keep peace and security in the Eurasian continent and establish a new global order based on justice and equality of all countries. And he stressed the need to support each other in line with the new treaty and realize reciprocal cooperation in all fields including politics, the economy, culture and the military affairs.

He noted that the meeting of the top leaders of the two countries in Vladivostok, at the Vostochnyy Cosmodrome and in Pyongyang, in particular, deepened intimacy and mutual confidence and enriched the genuine fraternal character and militant friendship of the Russia-DPRK relations, and expressed thanks to the Korean people's solidarity with and absolute support to Russia.

He emphasized that the effectuation of the new treaty between the Russian Federation and the DPRK is a great event of giving pleasure to the friends and of giving uneasiness and fear to the enemy.

Then, Choe Son Hui made a speech.

She said: The new treaty between countries came into being when the DPRK-Russia relations are marking an important turning point in their course of development, which clarifies a strategic path for the two countries and convinces us of its victory all the more. It is a brilliant result of the outstanding foresightedness, political will and decision of the heads of state of the two countries.

The Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the DPRK and the Russian Federation is the motive force that makes it possible to realize the grand plans of the state leaderships of the two countries and the desires of the peoples to develop the bilateral relations onto a new strategic height, firmly defend the security environment of the region and the rest of the world in conformity with the common interests and build powerful states.

She manifested the invariable stand of the government of the DPRK to cooperate with Russia closely in all fields in a many-sided way and strengthen and develop the DPRK-Russia friendly relations permanently in the spirit of the treaty in hearty response to the noble intentions of the heads of state of the two countries.

She expressed the belief that the heroic army and people of Russia would achieve a victory in the just cause to safeguard the sovereign rights and security of the country and build an independent multipolar world in firm unity around the respected President Putin.
