Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Catfish Farm in the DPRK is making a substantial contribution to the improvement of people's diet.
The farm has made many successes in implementing on-site instructions while fulfilling its national economic plan every year for the past nine years since the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un left his historic trace at it.
It made the size of puffed feed smaller to improve the digestibility and weight ratio of catfish and developed a preventive treatment technology to reduce death rate.
It designed and manufactured an active electric boiler to suit the specific conditions so as to reduce the electricity consumption by one fifth and effectively remodeled the production equipment to provide the early feeding of young catfish irrespective of season.
It also established a new water management system conducive to optimizing the breeding and caring of catfish.
Progress has also been made in the work to expand the ultra quick freezing capacity.
It has built a huge database including books, photos and videos and activated the operation of sci-tech learning space.
A new-type separator, which plays an important role in increasing the output, was introduced and a big stride was made in the home production of feed additives.
The farm has also played a role as a base for disseminating and generalizing advanced successes and experience in the fish farming field. -0-
